Exciting things are happening for "Becky's Hope" in 2012!  "Becky's Hope" will be represented in Boston, Chicago and the Twin Cities in 2012.    One of our first fundraisers for the 2012 walks will be reusable grocery tote bags.  A stylish black bag with pink "Becky's Hope" and breast cancer ribbons.  Stay tuned for more information...

Sunday, October 30 Benefit Luncheon at Gustavus in St. Peter, MN

Delta Phi Omega has been a big supporter of "Becky's Hope".  Becky meant alot to the girls from this sorority.  I'd like to invite everyone to their annual luncheon.  We'd love to see several tables full of people wearing "Becky's Hope" shirts.  Proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen.

Delta Phi Omega's Breast Cancer Benefit will be held on Sunday, October 30 from 11:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. The tentative plan is to have the silent auction and coffee hour from 11:00 a.m. -noon, lunch at 12:15 p.m. and then guest speakers at 1:00 p.m. (two guest speakers will be talking about Becky).

I would like to take a minute to say "Thank You" to each and every person that has supported "Becky's Hope" this past year.  The walk was amazing.  "Becky's Hope" was the #2 team for fundraising.  We came in right around $57,000 - which is an awesome amount!  Our overall total for the past four years is around $170,000.  Becky was #5 for individual fundraisers. The Twin Cities raised $5.3 million this past weekend.  We will continue to walk for a cure.

To date our team has raised over $40,000 this year!  I know we will make our team goal of $50,000 by the time the 3-Day arrives.  A BIG thank you to everyone for all of your support.  We could not have done this without you.

A big part of the 3-Day is the cheering stations.  Every day of the walk we look forward to seeing our friends and family.  If you have not experienced the 3-Day, this is your opportunity!  You will be forever changed.

On August 19-21 Lisa Fischer and Missy Bode  and the rest of the “Becky’s Hope” team will be joining thousands of other walkers on a 60 mile walk to help raise awareness for breast cancer.  In order to participate in the walk each person must raise $2,300.  All money raised from this fundraiser will go to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure and will be used for breast cancer research.

4:00 p.m.- Booths and food open for business, silent auction is ready to go
6:00 p.m. - Survivor Ceremony (All teams announced during this ceremony)
8:30 p.m. - Auction bidding ends

9:00 p.m. - Luminaria Ceremony
9:30 p.m. - Silent auction check-out for winning bidders

*** Musical entertainment from 5:00-10:30 including karaoke

Layout of the Park:
- All ceremonies are in the center of the pavilion - with seating at picnic tables to the East of pavilion
- The Food Stand, remembrance table and Survivor Registration are under the pavilion
- Silent Auction is under the two tents to the South of the Pavilion
- Restrooms are located in the Southeast corner of the park
- Food is awesome at the event ... Mr. Ribs, tacos in a bag, kettle corn, mini-donuts, water/pop/coffee ... possibly smoothies too
- Relay items for sale under auction tent

4th Annual Ride for Research

If you have not previously participated in the Ride for Research, I encourage you to join us this year on Saturday, June 4.  Classic cars, motorcycles and all other vehicles are welcome to join in the fun.  We'll start at Rapid Rick's in Nicollet and then be led on a "mystery" ride.  The ride will end at Rapid Rick's with a silent auction. We are starting to collect items for the silent auction.  If you would like to donate a basket or something for a basket, please let me know.

2011 "Becky's Hope" Team Update

Hi Everyone,
I decided to start a team blog.  Thanks for checking us out.  "Becky's Hope" will continue the mission that Becky Hewitt started 6 years ago - to raise awareness and money to end breast cancer forever!

Our 3-Day team started in 2007 with only 4 team members.  In 2011 we have 22 team members!  100% of all money raised will be donated to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure.
